27 UNIHTED’s first year by the numbers:

We wanted to showcase the great work we did this past year, so we took an inventory and listed it all out. We also made graphics to accompany the text. We’re looking forward to a strong 2026 and happy to look ahead!

⚖️Legal Support:

20+ Legal Town Halls, Q&A and brainstorming sessions for fired feds & Bethesda Declaration Signers

📢Activism:

Two rallies with over 800 total attendees all to support NIH and Bethesda Declaration Signers

Save HHS letter campaign to hold RFK Jr. accountable to protect public health, in collaboration with National Public Health Coalition (formerly FBF)

34 weekly NIH Vigils, partnership with NIH Vigils

🫂🫂Community support:

13 Saturday food drive pick ups at NIH Vigils, the people’s pantry with the Federal Unionists Network and other groups and pick up events with we are wellfed. !

IN TOTAL: collected 2,000+ lbs
and 20,00t0$ in funds for local food banks

❤️Wellness:

30+ Peer support sessions for current and federal workers throughout the year

🛟Mutual Aid:

Developed a crowd-sourced mutual aid page with 150+ resources for federal workers during the government shutdown and beyond

📄Career Support:

Hosted 20+ workshops, power hours, resume and coaching sessions for former and current NIH workers some in partnership with FedsForward

8 NIH worker owned businesses on our site to showcase workers taking the entrepreneurial leap

🪩Community Building:

Hosted 8+ in person events focused on fun and friendship

📚📖Education:

25 + stories collected on topics like grant interruptions, former workers, and world AIDS day

Inform an audience of over 45K about changes and impacts to NIH
using social media platforms, traditional media, and alternative media appearances with partners like OneAID

5+ new plans for congressional education developed for 2026
