Tell us about your business.

“We offer two main product lines- stovetop potpourri and embroidery. The stovetop potpourri blends are a sensory anchor and subtle soundscape, creating a welcoming atmosphere to any space. The embroidery products include handmade gifts and ornaments, plus DIY kits to help the beginner get started on making pieces themselves. I also offer custom pieces and downloadable patterns.”

What inspired you to start your business?

“I love making things from scratch- food, gifts, growing a garden- and turning ordinary moments into something special. I’ve always done this in my home and for my loved ones, but this business allows me to share outside of my circle.”

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.

“I am passionate about taking things from good to great. I see value in making things by hand and the added touch that takes something from ordinary to extraordinary.”

What was your role at NIH?

“I joined NIH as a dietitian at the Clinical Center in 2016, then was accepted into the NIH Management Intern program in 2020. I converted out of the program in 2022 to join the National Institute on Aging as a Management Analyst (yay WAMB!).”

How has your NIH experience influenced your business journey?

“I loved my time at NIH and miss it everyday. My experience there taught me skills like project management, financial planning, communications, and marketing. I also learned resilience and not being afraid to take risks, which are essential when starting a business!”

What is something you're proud of or excited about right now?

“I’m so excited for the holiday season- handmade gifts are my specialty! I just developed a new potpourri blend, the Gratitude Blend, that will transport you to the scent of the kitchen on Thanksgiving day, without all the dishes!”
