Jennifer Troyer, PhD is Senior Advisor with 27 UNIHTED and Director of Global Genomics for Genetic Alliance.  

Dr. Troyer has more than a decade of leadership in genomics research administration and global health initiatives. In her current role, Dr. Troyer leads Genetic Alliance’s global genomics strategy, strengthening partnerships across sectors and expanding initiatives that connect genomic research with patient communities. Prior to that, she served as Director of the Division of Extramural Operations at the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), where she led efforts to coordinate research funding, policies and programs supporting genomic science worldwide. Throughout her career, Dr. Troyer has managed complex collaborative research initiatives. At NHGRI, she oversaw grant portfolios focused on comparative genomics, genome function, and bioinformatics and played key roles in major global programs such as the Human Heredity and Health in Africa (H3Africa) initiative, a Common Fund program that advanced genomic research and infrastructure across the African continent, and Enabling Discovery Through Genomics (EDGE), a collaboration with the National Science Foundation. Dr. Troyer earned her Ph.D. in genetics from the University of Connecticut and her B.A. in biology from Earlham College. She completed postdoctoral training at the National Cancer Institute and Colorado State University.
