“This written comment is provided in response to the Request for Information: Accelerating the American Scientific Enterprise. Scientific innovation is a vital to the continued success of the country, to ensure that the United States can remain first in the world in important areas including basic science, research & development, technology translation, and commercialization of scientific innovations that will serve the American people. It is imperative that the federal government continue to support all scientific funding through existing agencies including CDC, EPA, NASA, NIH, NSF, and USDA. These funding mechanisms must include full coverage of the scientific pipeline: trainee/early career support, basic research, translation, and commercialization of scientific innovations.
